At Yesicangelica, our art and fashion brand, we always dreamed of creating a unique brand. Initially, we thought it would be clothing, but over time we discovered that we were multifaceted and had individual and shared interests. Over the years, we included Angelica's art, my passion for hairstyles, and thus, hair accessories emerged. Then came the jewelry, designed to complement our garments. Angelica, wanting to model in the photos, led me to photography, while my love for writing was reflected in the descriptions of our products. The creation of each piece of art, clothing, jewelry, and hair accessory is a journey full of creativity and dedication. Today, we want to take you behind the scenes and show you how we turn our ideas into the beautiful pieces you see in our store.
Inspiration
Everything begins with a spark of inspiration. It can arise from anywhere: a walk in nature, a painting, a song, or even a dream. We keep a sketchbook and a collection of visual references to capture any inspiring idea. We are especially inspired by the decades of the 60s to the 90s, as we feel a strong identification with their magical and extroverted colors. As a brand, we love the fusion between the old and the modern. Music, series, and movies are key points of inspiration, but nature is our biggest starting point for creation. Originality is fundamental in our brand. Once we have a clear idea, we begin the design process. We use digital design programs to create detailed sketches and visualize what the final piece will look like. At this stage, we ensure that every detail is perfectly aligned with our vision. On our channel, we almost always show the development process, focusing on the love of creating the best pieces, although we sometimes discard ideas that do not convince us. We always create in small quantities because we believe there is nothing more wonderful than sharing with people who value creativity and authenticity in their attire. Art is what permeates every product we make because above all, our brand is based on art and fashion.
Material Selection
The choice of materials is crucial for the quality of our pieces. We carefully select precious metals, semi-artificial pearls, cotton fabric, and other high-quality elements. Our goal is to create jewelry and accessories that are not only beautiful but also durable. Fantasy is the queen of creativity, and we like our products to reflect that fantastic side. Therefore, our jewelry is fantasy, our hair accessories are full of art and resin, and our garments are made of cotton because nothing is more natural than the real thing. With the design ready and the materials selected, we create prototypes. This is an exciting phase where we see our ideas take tangible form. We test different techniques and adjustments until we achieve perfection. We mostly do three tests for each of our products, and when we both completely agree, we launch production and develop 50 to 100 units. Once the prototype is approved, we move on to production. Each piece is handmade by us with meticulous attention to every detail. We ensure that each item meets our high standards of quality. After production, each piece goes through rigorous quality control. We adjust and polish every detail to ensure that the final product is impeccable. Only then are we ready to present it in our online store.
